Best Around Me (BAM)
This is a small startup working on a shoestring budget with limited resources. As such the designs were put together to be easier and less expensive to integrate, while focusing on usability.
BAM Logo
The customer requested a logo that was simplistic, based on a cartoon-style “bomb”, and with an intense black background. As a part of this effort, a basic style guide for fonts and accents was also created.
BAM It! App
The BAM It! App is a way of finding the best menu items around you, and also rating individual menu items. This is something other services like Yelp don’t do. The App is designed to be easy to use, allowing a user to simply input what they are hungry for. Perhaps a burger, or pizza, or noodles, and see which restaurants have the best rated menu items around them.

BAM It! also allows users to rate menu items, and review restaurants. The menu item rating system uses cheeky and fun iconography instead of the standard stars (which are nonetheless retained for restaurant ratings). It also allows for what effectively is a -1 rating via the dislike “dude” bomb icon.

In lieu of creating a full style guide, some basic brand guidelines were created in a more simplistic document.
