LAWRENCE RAILEY

UI/UX Designer & Developer

Kennards Hire

A side contract I took a few years ago with some other independent contractors, the Kennards Hire project was to help their internal development team kickstart their equipment browser, locator, and billing application on their website. I was responsible for the design and UI development portion of the work. The proof of concept was handed over to Kennards Hire and developed further into the end product, which can be played with here: www.kennards.com.au.

One of the unique challenges of this project was working with a development team in Australia, with diametrically opposed business hours.

Kennards Back End

In addition to the features seen on the public site, there is a great deal of functionality buried behind the scenes to help companies manage users – accounts approved by the customer to rent equipment on their behalf. A super user could manage the rest of the company’s user profiles, and job sites where they were allowed to rent equipment from Kennards.

Job Site Geolocation

Super users could additionally post job sites for their company, scheduling equipment rentals to be delivered directly to the site.

It was interesting doing this for an Australian company!
